The Federal Highway Administration requires the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to submit an updated Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) every five years, it is more than just a policy document required to unlock $34.7 million of federal funds for safety improvements, this is the Commonwealth’s roadway safety Action Plan.
