Measuring

Measuring - before, during, and after - is important. Evaluating the condition of our region, whether it be the condition of our roads, or the health of our youngest residents, helps us understand the strengths and needs of our community and where we can best put our planning and implementation efforts. We measure before we do, to help determine strategy, and we measure during and after our "Doing" to determine how well we accomplished our goals. Our annual Top 10 Resolves and Major Accomplishments reports are PVPC's internal way of showing our commitment to setting measurable goals and reporting back on what we accomplish, year after year.

We also provide resources and services to help others in the region measure, through resources such as:

  • GIS mapping of key regional data and information for understanding and analysis;
  • Regional data warehouse providing data on a variety of topics including social, economic, land use, transportation, infrastructure, and health;
  • Data analysis and writing to help a broader audience understand regional trends in a more easily digestable manner through text, charts,graphs, and maps
  • Assist municipalities, organizations, and other community leaders use data to develop shared strategy to achieve their goals for the region.

Check out our data-related pages for a sampling of current and past work, and be in touch to let us know how we can work together to use data and mapping to improve outcomes in the region!
