Apply for a Community Grant to Reduce Toxic Chemical Use

Reduce toxic chemical use in your community with the help of a TURI grant. Grants of up to $20,000 are available for regional or statewide projects and up to $10,000 for local projects.

The types of organizations that can apply include, but are not limited to, municipal governments, environmental and community organizations, NGOs, youth organizations, housing authorities and school districts.

What is Toxics Use Reduction?

Toxics Use Reduction (TUR) is about preventing pollution at the source rather than controlling it once generated. Examples of TUR include replacing a toxic chemical with a safer substance or changing the manufacturing process so that the toxic substance is no longer necessary.

Therefore, these grant funds can NOT be used for ventilation, exposure controls and recycling.
