Housing

Overview

The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) partners with member municipalities to identify and address current and future housing needs across the region. Our team is experienced in developing Housing Production Plans and Housing Needs Assessments that comply with Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) guidelines, as well as actionable Housing Strategies tailored to local conditions and goals.

We also support communities in conducting Analyses of Impediments to Fair Housing, fostering equitable access to housing opportunities for all residents. PVPC regularly facilitates community conversations around housing needs and challenges, helping municipalities engage stakeholders and build consensus around solutions. In addition, we assist with the implementation of key housing-related action items, ensuring that planning efforts translate into meaningful outcomes.

As part of our commitment to regional collaboration, PVPC convenes the Pioneer Valley Regional Housing Committee—a quarterly forum of planners, housing advocates, developers, lenders, and community organizations. This group shares insights, discusses regional trends, and advances the goals of the Pioneer Valley Regional Housing Plan.

Together, through this comprehensive work, we aim to build a region where every person has access to a safe, stable, and affordable home—and the opportunity to thrive.
