Day Brook has become known as the “The Secret Stream” or “La Corriente Secreta” because for much of its journey through the City of Holyoke it flows unseen. Overview
For this project PVPC partnered with Enchanted Circle Theater and the City of Holyoke both of which showed commitment and vision in imagining a different future for Day Brook. PVPC is also grateful to willingness on the parts of MassDCR and Holyoke Medical Center to begin rethinking how stormwater is managed on properties they own within the Day Brook Watershed. Most importantly, PVPC and project partners extend deepest appreciation for all the students at the Sullivan School who were so enthusiastically invested in learning about Day Brook and sharing the story with so many others in the City.
