The PVPC has been providing historic preservation support to Western Massachusetts communities for more than 35 years. Services include historic preservation survey and planning; development of National Register nominations, historic design standards and guidelines, and municipal preservation plans; Community Preservation Act historic preservation project compliance; and assistance with state and federal historic tax credit certification applications.

Overview
We also provide Local Technical Assistance for Historic Commissions, Historic District Commissions, and other Hampden and Hampshire County municipal groups on a variety of preservation topics. Additional work includes managing compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the MEPA review process, and review of local historic district appeals.
