PVPC’s Community Development section works to build stronger communities that retain their unique character and historic treasures while improving the lives and health of their citizens. Since 1987, the Community Development section has provided program and financial management under 83 different Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-funded programs involving 23 communities, resulting in direct program oversight of more than $56 million for local projects.
The Community Development section coordinates an array of Community Development Fund programs with other state and federal loan and grant programs dealing with lead paint removal, septic repairs, home modifications for the disabled, housing preservation, weatherization, and energy, among others. Community Development section staff members bring years of experience in banking, management, construction, municipal planning, and related fields to improve communities and benefit citizens.
