Transit Planner
The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, a proactive Regional Planning Agency (RPA) serving New England's 4th largest metropolitan area located in western MA, seeks a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Transit Planner. This position provides extensive technical support services to the region's transit authority. Candidates must be technically sound and be able to handle multiple projects. Requires experience in emerging trends in transit, multi-modal service planning, Environmental Justice planning activities, and coordinating transit ridership surveys. Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in urban planning or a related field and 3 or more years relevant experience. Candidates must have excellent analytical, communication, leadership and computer skills and be familiar with federal transit programs and requirements. Starting salary of $39,000 to $60,000 depending upon qualifications and experience, with an additional increase of $1,500 upon a successful 6 month review. Planner (I) Land Use/Environment
Proactive regional planning agency in scenic western Massachusetts seeks qualified and highly motivated Planner to work on land use planning. Desired qualifications include: previous related experience; strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of state and federal programs; good computer skills; strong organizational skills; and demonstrated experience in smart growth, sustainability, community-based planning, land use planning and zoning, and grant writing. Individuals with 2 or more years professional work experience and a master’s degree in regional planning or related discipline will be given preference. Starting salary $39,000 to $44,000 with benefits, depending on qualifications and experience.
